01 Why isn't he playing?

Check in order: injured (return date on Squad) → suspended → low fitness, usually rested → form or the manager's own beliefs
The standing-order picker — point at anyone in the whole club (youth included) and the manager obeys: start every match, come on late, or rest next game. These orders are free and never strain the relationship.
The matchday override room — normally the manager picks the team, but here you set tonight's eleven yourself, and the bench is filled in to suit your picks. It only opens on a matchday, before kickoff.

Growth comes from training (capped by the training ground) scaled by age and real minutes
the more a kid actually plays, the faster he grows
around 30 growth stops and it becomes about managing decline
everyone's final wall is his own potential

A kid training beside a clearly better veteran in his position group soaks it up and grows faster
veterans who aren't run into the ground decline much slower — keeping a legend next to the kids pays twice

Traits genuinely fire on and off the pitch
some only wake when their conditions are met — the profile badge shows active or dormant
point at any badge for the full effect and its terms

Set each player's training focus from his profile — five options Balanced = grows evenly Fitness = fresher legs, fewer injuries Technical = grows faster — only 2 seats at a time Tactical = reads the game better Sharpness = match rhythm returns sooner after a spell out In packed weeks, order light training: fresher and safer, at the price of slower growth for a while

If fewer than eleven players are fit to play, the game fields trialists to fill the gaps — not real players: no profile to open, stats kept apart
fix the cause: buy, loan or promote from the academy
